Japanese Philately

Saturday, August 20, 2005

This is the cancel on the stamp. Unfortunately, I do not have it on cover, only on a single stamp. A friend gave me a whole lot of issues of "Japanese Philately", and in the August 1994 Issue, whole #307, it shows what it calls a "comb" cancel with horizontal, not vertical, bars, and says it was a cancel used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. I wanted to know which it was, if either, and how to tell.

Hi. You have me looking through a pile of Japanese stamps from that era, looking for comb cancels. No luck so far. Nice blog! (It looks just like mine.)
